PRIORITIZING PATIENT COMFORT, PRECISE PLANNING AND IDEAL PLACEMENT
Advanced Technology for Periodontics and Implant Dentistry
At Pylant Periodontics, Dr. Derrick Pylant and Dr. George Pylant believe that advanced dental technologies are essential to provide patients with industry-leading periodontal care. Every detail of our procedures are vastly improved by cutting-edge tools and techniques. We consistently evaluate new research and studies to stay up to date with the most appropriate instruments, techniques and technologies.
Learn more about the advanced diagnostic technology and treatment planning softwares utilized in our office below. If you have any questions about the use of technology or materials in your care, we welcome your questions. Our periodontists are highly committed to patient knowledge and education as an essential part of establishing a lifetime of oral health.
Diagnostic, Pre-Surgical Planning (CAD) and Fabrication (CAM) Technologies
Amazingly, in our digital world, software is almost as important as hardware. At Pylant Periodontics, our periodontists are highly experienced in the use of advanced dental implant planning software as well as prosthetic design and fabrication softwares to personally plan your treatment. Every day in our office, 3D printers are printing patient models, surgical guides and prosthetics to assist in surgical outcomes and healing.
Technology even plays a role in recovery and healing. We often utilize growth factors, biologics, and other modifiers to decrease the amount of required healing time while reducing swelling and discomfort.
DWOS Synergy
(Dental Wings)
A comprehensive workflow, DWOS Synergy allows us to identify and plan the ideal position of an implant post based upon your mouth and a proposed design of a well-fitting prosthetic. Because planning and fabrication occurs before the surgery, surgical time is reduced and predictability is increased.
Intraoral Scanner
(TRIOS, VIVO)
No more molds or impressions with a putty like material. Two low-profile, intra-oral scanners allows us to use a digital camera to take digital impressions for a much more comfortable, efficient and accurate experience.
Low-Dose CBCT
(PLANMECA)
Unparalleled and highly accurate view of the structures surrounding the teeth, our CBCT technology greatly reduces the unknown before possible surgery with a low-dose option.
3D Printing (P-30, P-20, DLP Technology)
Our 3D printers are utilized for many aspects of dental treatment, such as creating drill guides, prosthetic models, models of the jawbone and more. Our office uses 2 professional laboratory grade DLP printers, which allows us to print quickly, accurately and precisely.
Dental Wings coDiagonistiX
This planning software allows our dental implant specialists to strategically prepare for your dental implant procedure. It also aids in the design of surgical drill guides, allowing for predictable results that are highly accurate. This is surgical planning done in-house and not outsourced to a third party.
Thin PSP Digital Radiographs (ACTEON)
The use of digital radiographs increases comfort when taking normal dental x-rays because of thin sensor plates and more diagnostic imaging due to better positioning.
Handheld Portable X-Ray Device (EzRay)
The Handheld x-ray increases patient comfort because of reduced time needed to hold still. This device also increases safety for the operator and patient as x-ray scatter is reduced so low that current recommendations state lead aprons are no longer needed.
Exocad & Blender
These softwares allow us to design dental restorations, proposals and complex surgical guides for more advanced surgeries. Exocad is one of, if not the most comprehensive dental CAD software as well as one of the most flexible and CAD software platforms available in the dental industry.
Straumann USA CARES® Software
This dental design software allows us to design dental restorations and proposals on the computer. It is a dental laboratory grade software and a powerful CAD (computer assisted design) program that allows us to perform the Synergy workflow.
To continue to offer our patients the highest level of comfort and care in periodontics and dental implants, Pylant Periodontics has invested in using top of the line implant planning softwares to vastly improve the dental implant planning process.
This advanced system uses 3D imaging data, which is gathered using an intraoral scanner and computed tomography (CT) scanner, to create a surgical guide for implant placement. This information is then shared with the prosthetic planning software so that both processes can be completed at the same time. By completing every aspect of the treatment in-office, both Dr. Derrick Pylant and Dr. George Pylant can ensure the entire treatment process is held to the highest standards.
This advanced dental implant workflow system significantly improves efficiency, accuracy, and outcomes.
Growth Factors, Biologics, Equipment and Instrumentation
Technology even plays a role in recovery and healing. We often utilize growth factors, biologics, and other modifiers to decrease the amount of required healing time while reducing swelling and discomfort.
L-PRF, PRP
This growth factor is often used during bone grafting, extraction or augmentation procedures. The growth factors naturally circulating in the body are concentrated using a centrifuge and added directly to the surgical area to maximize healing potential.
Emdogain
This growth factor is often used during regenerative procedures and soft or hard tissue grafting procedures. This growth factor can reduce swelling and pain as well as promote soft and hard tissue development and periodontal regeneration.
GEM21-S
This growth factor is often used during regenerative procedures and soft or hard tissue grafting procedures. This growth factor directly stimulates blood vessel proliferation, which greatly improves and maximizes regenerative outcomes.
BMP-2
This growth factor is used during regenerative procedures and hard tissue grafting procedures when there are very advanced defects present. This growth factor directly stimulates cells to turn into bone forming cells, which greatly improves and maximizes regenerative outcomes in advanced cases.
Ultrasonic Scalers
These scalers' gentle vibrations enable the removal of plaque and tartar with minimal discomfort and significantly less noise than sonic scalers.
Air Polishing
Air polishing instrumentation used at Pylant Perio enables the removal of plaque and light tartar as well as heavy staining with minimal discomfort to the patient.
Piezotome
This gentle instrument aids in complex sinus lift procedures and extractions in preparation for dental implants when there is insufficient bone to support implant placement.
Versah Osseodensification
These novel instruments aid in conservative sinus lift procedures when indicated and increase bone density for dental implant placement when the existing bone may be less dense.
Microsurgery Instruments
These instruments are used in almost every procedure to minimize invasiveness and allow for minimally invasive techniques like tunneling to be performed.
